Our permanent baskets are designed to perform in the harshest all-weather environments and to live up to the demands and standards of today's Park and Recreation departments. Hot-dip galvanized steel has been used for more than 150 years. The value of hot-dip galvanizing stems from the corrosion resistance of zinc, which forms a physical barrier against corrosion, and when applied as a hot-dip galvanized coating, cathodically protects exposed steel. When the Brooklyn Bridge was built, over 14,500 miles of hot-dip galvanized wire were used for its four main cables. Over 100 years later when the bridge underwent massive rehabilitation, the hot-dip galvanized wire was in excellent condition.
